1. מַלֵּא שְׁבֻעַ זֹאת וְנִתְּנָה לְךָ גַּם אֶת זֹאת
בַּעֲבֹדָה אֲשֶׁר תַּעֲבֹד עִמָּדִי עוֹד שֶׁבַע שָׁנִים אֲחֵרוֹת.

2. תְּנָה אֶת נָשַׁי וְאֶת יְלָדַי אֲשֶׁר עָבַדְתִּי אֹתְךָ בָּהֵן וְאֵלֵכָה כִּי אַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ אֶת

3-5. וַיְמָרְרוּ אֶת חַיֵּיהֶם

They embittered their lives with hard work, with mortar and bricks, and with all work in the field; all their work which they worked them was back-breaking labor.

During that long period of time, the king of Egypt died, and the Children of Israel sighed from the servitude, and they cried out, and their outcry from the servitude rose to God.
8. תִּכְבַּד
הָעֲבֹדָה עַל הָאֲנָשִׁים וְיַעֲשׂוּ בָהּ וְאַל יִשְׁעוּ בְּדִבְרֵי שָׁקֶר.

Make the work heavy on the men, and they shall labor in it, and let them not look to false words."

Betzalel and Oholiav and every wise-hearted man in whom Hashem placed wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work for the service of the Holy, shall do according to all that Hashem commanded.

They took from before Moshe all the donation offerings that the Children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the Holy, to do it. And they brought to him more free will offerings every morning.

According to the commandment of Hashem they were numbered by Moses, everyone according to his service, and according to his burden. Thus were they numbered by him, as Hashem commanded Moses.

To the children of Levi, behold, I have given all the tithe in Israel for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the Tent of Meeting.

105. וְשַׁלּוּם בֶּן קוֹרֵא בֶּן אֶבְיָסָף בֶּן קֹרַח וְאֶחָיו לְבֵית אָבִיו הַקׇּרְחִים עַל מְלֶאכֶת

And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his father's house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the Tent; and their fathers had been over the camp of Hashem, keepers of the entry;
106. וּמֵהֶם עַל כְּלֵי
הָעֲבוֹדָה כִּי בְמִסְפָּר יְבִיאוּם וּבְמִסְפָּר יוֹצִיאוּם.

And certain of them had charge of the vessels of service; for by number were they brought in and by number they were taken out.
107. אֵלֶּה בְנֵי לֵוִי לְבֵית אֲבוֹתֵיהֶם רָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת לִפְקוּדֵיהֶם בְּמִסְפַּר שֵׁמוֹת לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָם עֹשֵׂה הַמְּלָאכָה

These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of the fathers' houses, according to their census, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Hashem, from twenty years old and upward.
108. וְגַם לַלְוִיִּם אֵין לָשֵׂאת אֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְאֶת כׇּל כֵּלָיו
לַעֲבֹדָתוֹ.

and also the Levites shall no more have need to carry the Tabernacle and all its vessels for its service."
109-110. כִּי מַעֲמָדָם לְיַד בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן

For their station was at the side of the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Hashem, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;
111. וְשָׁמְרוּ אֶת מִשְׁמֶרֶת אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וְאֵת מִשְׁמֶרֶת הַקֹּדֶשׁ וּמִשְׁמֶרֶת בְּנֵי אַהֲרֹן אֲחֵיהֶם

112. וַיֶּחָלְקֵם דָּוִיד וְצָדוֹק מִן בְּנֵי אֶלְעָזָר וַאֲחִימֶלֶךְ מִן בְּנֵי אִיתָמָר לִפְקֻדָּתָם
בַּעֲבֹדָתָם.

And David and Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their offices in their service.
113. אֵלֶּה פְקֻדָּתָם
לַעֲבֹדָתָם לָבוֹא לְבֵית
יְהֹוָהי״י כְּמִשְׁפָּטָם בְּיַד אַהֲרֹן אֲבִיהֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּהוּ

These were their offices in their service, to come into the house of Hashem according to the ordinance given to them by the hand of Aaron their father, as Hashem, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
114-115. וַיַּבְדֵּל דָּוִיד וְשָׂרֵי הַצָּבָא
לַעֲבֹדָה לִבְנֵי אָסָף וְהֵימָן וִידוּתוּן [הַנִּבְּאִים] (הנביאים) בְּכִנֹּרוֹת בִּנְבָלִים וּבִמְצִלְתָּיִם וַיְהִי מִסְפָּרָם אַנְשֵׁי מְלָאכָה

Moreover David and the captains of the host separated for the service from the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals; and the number of those that did the work according to their service was:
116. כׇּל אֵלֶּה עַל יְדֵי אֲבִיהֶם בַּשִּׁיר בֵּית

All these were under the hands of their fathers for song in the house of Hashem, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the direction of the king: Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
117. כׇּל אֵלֶּה מִבְּנֵי עֹבֵד אֱדֹם הֵמָּה וּבְנֵיהֶם וַאֲחֵיהֶם אִישׁ חַיִל בַּכֹּחַ
לַעֲבֹדָה שִׁשִּׁים וּשְׁנַיִם לְעֹבֵד אֱדֹם.

All these were of the sons of Obed-edom: they and their sons and their brothers, able men in strength for the service; sixty-two of Obed-edom.

Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, men of valor, a thousand and seven hundred, had the oversight of Israel beyond the Jordan westward; for all the business of Hashem, and for the service of the king.

לַעֲבֹדַת הָאֲדָמָה עֶזְרִי בֶּן כְּלוּב.

And David said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and of good courage, and do it; fear not, nor be dismayed; for Hashem, God, my God, is with you; He will not fail you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of Hashem is finished.
128-129. וְהִנֵּה מַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם לְכׇל
עֲבוֹדַת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים וְעִמְּךָ בְכׇל מְלָאכָה לְכׇל נָדִיב בַּחׇכְמָה לְכׇל
עֲבוֹדָה וְהַשָּׂרִים וְכׇל הָעָם לְכׇל דְּבָרֶיךָ.

And, behold, there are the orders of the priests and the Levites, for all the service of the house of God; and there shall be with you in all manner of work every willing man that has skill, for any manner of service; also the captains and all the people will be wholly at your commandment."
130. וַיִּתְּנוּ
לַעֲבוֹדַת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים זָהָב כִּכָּרִים חֲמֵשֶׁת אֲלָפִים וַאֲדַרְכֹנִים רִבּוֹ וְכֶסֶף כִּכָּרִים עֲשֶׂרֶת אֲלָפִים וּנְחֹשֶׁת רִבּוֹ וּשְׁמוֹנַת אֲלָפִים כִּכָּרִים וּבַרְזֶל מֵאָה אֶלֶף כִּכָּרִים.

and they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron one hundred thousand talents.
131. וַיַּעֲמֵד כְּמִשְׁפַּט דָּוִיד אָבִיו אֶת מַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים עַל
עֲבֹדָתָם וְהַלְוִיִּם עַל מִשְׁמְרוֹתָם לְהַלֵּל וּלְשָׁרֵת נֶגֶד הַכֹּהֲנִים לִדְבַר יוֹם בְּיוֹמוֹ וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִים בְּמַחְלְקוֹתָם לְשַׁעַר וָשָׁעַר כִּי כֵן מִצְוַת דָּוִיד אִישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים.

And he appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the orders of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their charges, to praise, and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required; the doorkeepers also by their orders at every gate; for so had David the man of God commanded.
132. אָבִיךָ הִקְשָׁה אֶת עֻלֵּנוּ וְעַתָּה הָקֵל
מֵעֲבוֹדַת אָבִיךָ הַקָּשָׁה וּמֵעֻלּוֹ הַכָּבֵד אֲשֶׁר נָתַן עָלֵינוּ וְנַעַבְדֶךָּ.

"Your father made our yoke hard; now therefore lighten the hard service of your father and his heavy yoke which he put upon us and we will serve you."
133-134. כִּי יִהְיוּ לוֹ לַעֲבָדִים וְיֵדְעוּ
עֲבוֹדָתִי וַעֲבוֹדַת מַמְלְכוֹת הָאֲרָצוֹת.

Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know My service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries."
135. וַיִּתְּנֵהוּ הַמֶּלֶךְ וִיהוֹיָדָע אֶל עוֹשֵׂה מְלֶאכֶת

And the king and Jehoiada gave it to those who did the work of the service of the house of Hashem; and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of Hashem, and also to those that wrought iron and brass to repair the house of Hashem.
136. וְגַם עֹלָה לָרֹב בְּחֶלְבֵי הַשְּׁלָמִים וּבַנְּסָכִים לָעֹלָה וַתִּכּוֹן

And also the burnt-offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peace-offerings, and the drink-offerings for every burnt-offering. So the service of the house of Hashem was firmly established.
137. וַיַּעֲמֵד יְחִזְקִיָּהוּ אֶת מַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם עַל מַחְלְקוֹתָם אִישׁ כְּפִי
עֲבֹדָתוֹ לַכֹּהֲנִים וְלַלְוִיִּם לְעֹלָה וְלִשְׁלָמִים לְשָׁרֵת וּלְהֹדוֹת וּלְהַלֵּל בְּשַׁעֲרֵי מַחֲנוֹת
יְהֹוָהי״י.

And Hezekiah appointed the orders of the priest and the Levites according to their orders, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt-offerings and for peace-offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of Hashem.

beside them that were reckoned by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even every one that entered into the house of Hashem, for his daily portion, for their service in their charges according to their orders;

בַּעֲבוֹדַת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים וּבַתּוֹרָה וּבַמִּצְוָה לִדְרֹשׁ לֵאלֹהָיו בְּכׇל לְבָבוֹ עָשָׂה וְהִצְלִיחַ.

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
140-141. וְעַל הַסַּבָּלִים וּמְנַצְּחִים לְכֹל עֹשֵׂה מְלָאכָה
לַעֲבוֹדָה וַעֲבוֹדָה וּמֵהַלְוִיִּם סוֹפְרִים וְשֹׁטְרִים וְשׁוֹעֲרִים.

Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and presided over all that did the work in every manner of service; and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and gatekeepers.
142. וַיַּעֲמֵד הַכֹּהֲנִים עַל מִשְׁמְרוֹתָם וַיְחַזְּקֵם
לַעֲבוֹדַת בֵּית

And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of Hashem.
143. וַתִּכּוֹן
הָעֲבוֹדָה וַיַּעַמְדוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים עַל עׇמְדָם וְהַלְוִיִּם עַל מַחְלְקוֹתָם כְּמִצְוַת הַמֶּלֶךְ.

So the service was prepared, and the priests stood in their place, and the Levites by their orders, according to the king's commandment.
144. וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִים בְּנֵי אָסָף עַל מַעֲמָדָם כְּמִצְוַת דָּוִיד וְאָסָף וְהֵימָן וִידֻתוּן חוֹזֵה הַמֶּלֶךְ וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִים לְשַׁעַר וָשָׁעַר אֵין לָהֶם לָסוּר מֵעַל
עֲבֹדָתָם כִּי אֲחֵיהֶם הַלְוִיִּם הֵכִינוּ לָהֶם.

And the singers the sons of Asaph were in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king's seer; and the gatekeepers were at every gate; they needed not to depart from their service, for their brothers the Levites prepared for them.
145. וַתִּכּוֹן כׇּל
עֲבוֹדַת יְהֹוָהי״י בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא לַעֲשׂוֹת הַפֶּסַח וְהַעֲלוֹת עֹלוֹת עַל מִזְבַּח
יְהֹוָהי״י כְּמִצְוַת הַמֶּלֶךְ יֹאשִׁיָּהוּ.

So all the service of Hashem was prepared the same day, to keep the Passover, and to offer burnt-offerings upon the altar of Hashem, according to the commandment of king Josiah.
